What is the present granted to every being?

We first heard about the present granted to every being from a tweet by a lady who we do not remember but we are grateful to hear. We will explain the tweet below the following lyric of one of the best songs of all time that you may know:

Your Present

Que Será, Será

When I was just a little girl

I asked my mother, what will I be

Will I be pretty

Will I be rich

Here's what she said to me

Que sera, sera

Whatever will be, will be

The future's not ours to see

Que sera, sera

What will be, will be

When I grew up and fell in love

I asked my sweetheart, what lies ahead

Will we have rainbows

Day after day

Here's what my sweetheart said

Que sera, sera

Whatever will be, will be

The future's not ours to see

Que sera, sera

What will be, will be

Now I have children of my own

They ask their mother, what will I be

Will I be handsome

Will I be rich

I tell them tenderly

Que sera, sera

Whatever will be, will be

The future's not ours to see

Que sera, sera

What will be, will be

Que sera, sera

Yes. When we are not clear about the future, we might temporarily be a bit concerned or even painful. Remember the last years of your high school or the end of your adolescence years?

For some lucky people, a path is determined easily at an early age and we travel it with trivial problems that might make the journey more meaningful. For some: everything might turn upside down suddenly and they might experience much deeper levels of the concerns or pain. For example, we heard the Buddha who was once a prince with abundance and experience of every pleasure started to spend his life as a destitute ascetic and torture his body for about six years after seeing his people living in poverty and suffering for the first time until he found serenity and enlightenment on the middle path. (Watch a wonderful documentary about his life here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8LHsVjtrhw

The circumstances might even be worse and we might experience suffering, frustration, confusion, unknowingness so on for a longer time.

Awareness about the present granted to every being can be of a little bit help.

That present is the present!

The tweet of the lady mentioned above was something like “Like the moment you experience now; that is why it is called ‘present.’”

Yes. We all have the present, the now, to experience. Many teachings oriented to awareness highlight the value of staying in the present and go with the flow.

Animals, who are said to have volunteered in this world, might be a bit lucky at least in this case as science says they are not aware of death. Hence, we might consider them that they are able to deserve the present that we usually fail. They clean themselves, seek food all day, sleep, and do their so-called duties for humans.

If you need to stay in the present and go with the flow, we have a thing to recommend, which is from a Turkish proverb: “There is refreshment in changing the space.” You can travel. In our opinion, when we travel, our mind explores and experiences new things, rather than the ones we see every day again and again, and might help stay in the present. For those who are unable to travel for various reasons, there is nature out there; you may want to explore the natural things you can find everywhere.
