Yes, we will look a bit sarcastic and maybe joking a little by naming this article as above, but the book we will mention asserts that it is certainly possible to live many hundred years and tries to prove it with examples.
Its title is “Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth” and its author is Peter Kelder. It simply alleges that we can live many longer years by reversing the cycle of aging, by means of some practices. Whether true or not, the book was extremely exciting to read.
Actually, I found the paperback version of the book among the burnt remains of a bookstore attacked and set to fire by some extremists in 1995. The book also had traces of that attack. It was a thin book narrating a mysterious story of a person who found the Fountain of Youth.
Subsequently, the publisher released a much thicker edition of the book. It was as if a guidebook to the first one, with numerous examples and explanations. It appears through a quick search that they have published another one.
I gave the book to two people in 1995, one of whom was my mother and the other was a relative. They both started to become younger in almost next to no time and the impact was clear. One probably stopped after a while but she is quite healthy in her 80s and mother (72) practices it from time to time; she is extremely energetic and probably she does not need to do practices now and only goes fast-walking. It is understandable that people are not obliged to do some things looking good, for maybe belief-related reasons.
I never did the practices as well. I was very young and did not need them, just sometimes accompanied my mother. Over the years, I tend to have a second look at it. It may be nice to keep track of the discussions about it on the Internet.
Nothing is impossible...
